PLEXSYS Supports USMC Fleet Synthetic Training Exercise
Sep 5, 2013 | By: Tara Marta

PLEXSYS recently executed a contract to support MACS-2 in Cherry Point, North Carolina, during their participation in the Navy sponsored Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) Joint event executed to prepare the Navy carrier group for deployment. MACS-2 used PLEXSYS products to model the AN/TPS-59 radar and translate DIS simulation protocol to radar data for the Mobile Tactical Air Operations Module (M-TAOM) operators using the new CAC2S C2 system. This also included translating DIS communications for use in the AN/MRQ-12 PRC-117 radios and ultimately at the crew workstation User Interface Devices (UID) using PLEXComm Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) as the translation gateway. This event provided invaluable training for all elements of the Tactical Air Operations Center (TAOC).
